Scheduling A "Cheat Night"

One trick that I've incorporated into our meal routine is to have a "cheat night", usually on Fridays. We eat homemade, healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner except for on "cheat night." I make homemade pizza dough and the kids "decorate" their own pizzas. I will also make some chicken wings and nachos, or a spinach and artichoke dip, or some other appetizer that I'm craving.

Salty foods and appetizers are my weakness (I can take or leave chocolate) and even before we had kids, I found that having one "cheat night" gave me the willpower to eat healthy the other six days of the week. I know that Friday is coming and that I get to eat ALL OF THE THINGS.

How does it work in your house? Do you incorporate a "cheat night" to keep you on track/indulge for a change?

That looks amazing. No we don't have cheat nights, well, there might be one night we eat out or buy something out.

This is a good idea.  We don't currently do anything like this.

Ours is usually on Sundays after church. We go out to lunch with friends then we get ice cream from our favorite diner.

No we don't.  Schedule one anyway. Sometimes we order pizza.

We have too much cheat time in the week overall!  That is a good idea, though.  You can't always say no to everything - being allowed foods you like, occasionally & in moderation, makes it easier to stick to your diet the rest of the time.
