The Venting Booth The Venting Booth

and he thought he wasn't getting it often enough before...

I have been home with our baby for 9 weeks and 2 days, and he threw out the "well I work full time-at a job" card at me. Who the hell does he think he's talking to? When I'm working I make twice the money he does, not to mention I'm in school part time while having the baby, but I never threw my income up in his face. This was 2 days ago and I still haven't calmed down enough to talk about it.

You guys are in the middle of a pissing match....

He does his part by bringing in money, you do yours for taking care of baby.
Neither one of you deserves a pat on the pat, you're both doing what you're SUPPOSED to be doing.

Quit making "who works harder" into a competition.

Whenever my husband throws out the "I work full time!" card, I reply with "And?" He usually stammers for a few moments then quiets down. Does he want a cookie for working?

Yeah, my DH "jokingly" says crap like that and I'm like, "Do YOU want to stay home and take care of the kids?" Then I lay out all the shit that JUST caring for the kids entails, not even household duties. Yeah... he doesn't joke like that anymore:)

There is no pissing match, I never replied to what he said, just thoughts in my head. This started when I asked if he could put the laundry (already folded on the table) away. And he responded by not only not putting it away but by saying "I work full time-at a job" at which time I said yes you do and walked away.
