D*mm*t!!!

I've developed a tolerance to my pain meds. This means I feel I have to wean off of it in order to avoid addiction along with my other problems.

*sigh* my head hurts so bad all the time. Sleep is all that works....but I can't just sleep until they find a way to help me!

I'm so frustrated! Two years since the accident, referral after referral and now the one ACTUAL pain management the at least brought it down a notch or two no longer helps either ! Just put me in a medically induced coma until you doctors figure it out already!

1 mom liked this

Some antidepressants in small doses can help with headaches. One is Amitriptyline. Sometimes you have to try a nontraditional route instead of the traditional route for headaches and pain.

Yes, my son took Nortryptoline for his migraines until they dissipated some.

I can ask.... But already on psyche meds.

I've been told post concussive syndrome may not be helped with meds at all. Add the occipital nerve damage which regulates body temp, light, sound sensitivity.... I feel pretty screwed but keep shoveling the Neurotin like I'm told, but i don't know why. Even the pharmacist said " your ate on the highest dosage, with no relief, why they aren't trying Lyrica, I don't know" ( but I 'm a pharmacist so if you ask, it can't have come from me)

Have an appt with my specialist shortly, but I'll forget to ask. I have a " memory wipe" About every 40 min. :-) no, seriously.

I tried Lyrica because I supposedly have Fibro, it didn't do a thing for me. The Amitriptilyne seriously helps with my pain in my joints as well as my migraines. I take a low dose, only 25 mgs. Not all antidepressants work with pain because there are different classes of medications. Some work differently than others.

Smoke Marijuana. It's the most natural and organic thing you could do to for your body to rid yourself of physical pain. If you live in a state where marijuana is legal, then get yourself a medical card. If you don't, find a trusted dealer.

Purchase a vaporizer online to enjoy your herbs without creating smoke, or marijuana odors of any sort. It's very discreet. I have one that looks exactly like an inhaler. I don't know which pain medicine you've built a tolerence to, but if you get prescribed methadone, oxycodone, or simular drugs, you're basically taking pharmaceutical heroin!! They're EXTREAMLY addictive, and do terrible things to your body. Not to mention you could potentially overdose if you unintentionally take too many pills just to ease your pain. On the otherhand, Marjiuana is zero percent addictive, and no one has EVER overdosed on it. Do your research. ;)

Oh wow, I feel ya, knock on wood, I've never developed an addiction.  I have such a high tolerance for pain now, but the chronic aspect that gets to me, It's wearing me down.  I just went through some stuff with a new drug (new to me) and it screwed up my gut in the worst way, I've been off it for weeks and I'm still having issues.
