anyone else feel overwhelmed when they take their toddler out  anywhere for instance out to eat and they are acting out. sometimes i have no clue what to do people stare at me like im a bad parent and to control my kid, but if I repremand him then they think I'm abusive. so sometimes i just end up leaving the place early cause i can't win but im sick of doing that there has got to be another way...HELP!

I always found that simple expectations outlined just before entering the establishment was the most effective way of preventing most foreseeable problems

Do you bring distractions like crayons of a small quiet toy?

yea but eventually he loses intrest or he can get a little too excited and run around all over the place i don't expect him to be a perfect angel but i'd like him to sit through most of the meal you know?

2 moms liked this

My kids always sat on the inside. No way for them to escape.

Im also not afraid to discipline in public.
