Ive watched kids and thought i had all my stuff locked up and didnt

My now 16 year old snooped in our room and took a DVD of porn into his room and watched porn at the age of 13. My porn and toys were in my closet in a hope chest. I thought they'd be safe.I guess the cops should of been called on me.

I found out when I went looking for a DVD in sons room that he had took from the family collection.

Honestly it sounds like your kids were snooping I highly doubt a grown man would show his kids porn at that age.

If it truly happen I'm sorry.

Thats pretty messed up

Quoting BeiberHATER:

Ok, I got into my dad's porn stash when I was 8. Your kid was probably being nosey and got into his porn and what he saw shocked the hell out of him and he didn't know how to deal with it.

Be prepared for the questions about what hew saw.

BTW, by the time I was 13 I had a porn and sex toy collection stash that put my dad's to shame. When I became an adult, he would even borrow some of my porn movies from me. His favorite was SNOOP DOGG'S DOGGYSTYLE...lol

I hope no one ever goes through DH or my phone because they'd be in for a huge shock lmao

Quoting Anonymous: So someone else's children were being bad snooping little brats just because you weren't a good enough parent to teach your children boundaries and not to steal? Btw you said teenager, 13 not 11 and being forced to watch something or shown something. If her child had "snooped" I don't think he would randomly rat hisself out.

There's a huge difference between an 11 year old and a 16 year old..

You must not realize that some pre teens and teens are interested in sex and finding their parents stash are going to watch to see what it is about.

Quoting momto3B:

You were clearly not terribly concerned that he would find them - so why bother to lock it at all? Nice, instead of an x-box, he got mom's dildo's and porn collection. I am sure after he stops throwing up in his mouth, that he will never go through your things again. Flimsy locks no longer needed.

Quoting Anonymous:

What ever. Kids will snoop. An it was locked he just picked the lock it was close to Yule and he was looking for gifts.

Quoting momto3B:

I am sorry, but maybe you want to put your "hope chest porn collection" in something a little more safe then your "hope chest" so your teenagers don't get it.  Seriously - you have never heard of a lock box?  Or better yet, don't have a porn collection for a few years - yeesh.

Of course I realize it. That is why a parent should either do a better job of locking up their "personal" items or simply not have any. Not too difficult in either case - particularly if you already KNOW they are going to be looking for it.

If a parent is not going to bother locking it up securely or getting rid of it, KNOWING that thier teens are likely to search, they might just as well hand them the items and save eveyone the time.

Sorry, not a risk I would be willing to take. We don't have a porn to toy stash but if we were inclined to, I would be certain to keep it from prying eyes.

Having frank converstations with my children about sex, sexuality and sexual practices does not need to include the details of our sex life.

The fact that you do not lock up your porn, but you pointed out ot me  "You must not realize that some pre teens and teens are interested in sex and finding their parents stash are going to watch to see what it is about."  must mean that either your kids are not old enough to be looking or you just really don't care if they find it.

They are old enough-15, 12 and 10.  But we talk to them enough on sex without our sex life that we know their feelings on things, and porn is not on their radar so I have to no worries at this point of them finding them.

Sure, as you pointed out ever teenager snoops -  but yours.

I prefer the 'better safe then sorry" model.
