Moms of First Graders ETA: Question

When do they rise and when are they in bed? Strange question I know but humor me.

Thanks everyone! Next question: how in the world do you get them to sleep that long a stretch? Ds is on day 2 of 1st grade and he is taking the bus to and from. That's 7:10am-2:15pm. I can get him to bed at 8 but he will get up around 10 and be up till 12-1am. It's a fight to get him back to bed.

Bed at 8:00, light and electronics off at 8:30. We get up at 6:30 to leave for school at 7:45.

Bedtime is usually around 8pm and he's up at 7. our school isn't far away so it's only a 2 min drive or ten min walk.

DS is going into first grade. He's in bed no later than 7:30 and he's up anytime between 6:30 and 7:30.

My son will start 1st grade next week. Since it's still summer he's not really on a schedule yet but next week will be in bed by 8pm up at 6:45am.

last year when my older dd was in 1st grade, bedtime was 8:30 and I dragged them out of bed around 7:15.  this year things will be different, and they'll have to go to bed a little earlier because they have to wake up earlier.

She goes to bed around 9:00, and wakes up around 6:30 in the morning. School starts at 8:00. I honestly dont understand why they have to make school so early. Studies have shown that kids start doing better and being awake more around 9 or 10, that letting them sleep in is actually beneficial when it comes to learning.
