Hi Everyone,

I am Beth Hossfeld, mom of a 16 year old son and two daughters in their twenties. I am also Co-Founder of Girls Circle, The Council for Boys and Young Men, and the Mother-Daughter Circle programs.  We train and equip individuals, schools and organizations to provide healthy development through circle programs that meet kids' needs for safety, empowerment, and connection.

If you are eager to learn how you and/or your daughters or sons can connect with peers and adult role models in highly engaging circles that offer youth development, gender-relevant topics and activities for girls or boys ages 9 -18, check out our websites, blog, facebook and twitter, http://www.girlscircle.com/; http://www.boyscouncil.com/;

We started Girls Circle over 15 years ago with a burning passion to change the course of epidemics of adolescent girls' depression, poor body image and eating disorders, risky sexual behavior, and loss of voice.  Since then we've all seen the increased magnitude of social pressures for girls and the high levels of self-harm, distress, pain and hyped up media around girls' social interaction.

We've also seen girls just ROCK, doing awesome things in sports, writing, political activism, the environment, entrepreneurial projects, and global action.   In Girls Circle, we've heard their stories, compassion, wisdom, stress, yearning and strength in connection.

We know the enormous pressures on boys too,  to act tough, look cool and hide their feelings.   In The Council, boys and young men are able to have a good place and engaging program to be challenged and discover how becoming the man they want to become is more possible when they have a secure bond with peers and role models.

Girls Circle and The Council are powerful models for all communities.  The Mother-Daughter Circle is a support group for mothers or female caregivers and their daughters 11 - 18 years.

Check this out, you and a friend or someone you trust can facilitate these groups and have a huge impact on your daughters, sons, and peers in your local community.

THANK YOU!

Beth Hossfeld, MFT
