One thing I love to do is to write Shakepearean sonnets. I guess its my need for order and to be precise. Sonnets put demands on you for meter, rhyme and total number of lines
A LOVE SO FRESH
I wake alone and reach but you're not there
Until you move appearing from afar
Dissolve to one, the common life we share
To alter states this moments scene would mar.
The quiet of this time, the best of all
Yet passions risen makes it even more
Engulfed by heat our sharing does enthrall
Each fibre of our life now as before.
Our essence spent, joined quietly againUntil we hear reality cry out
Reluctantly we answer its refrain
Protected by a love strong and devout
A separate two whose aura reads as one
A love so fresh as if its just begun

I have a number of things I enjoy doing with my spare private moments. CafeMom is definately one of them but something that is more private is that I love to write Shakespearean Sonnets. I thought I would share one here and hope you like it. Love to hear what you think.

Sit down and look back
Does it seem rite to you?
Sit down and look back
Is it rite what you do?
Do you think this is the way
To bring us together
Don't push her on me
It's not worth the bother
I promise you now she's not part of my life
I promise you now she'll never hurt me again
I want you to see her
See past her fake face
Look into her soul
It's a dark scary place
She looks down on you
There is no love there
Look into her eyes
Are you too scared to look there?
I know you can see it
The evil inside
I know you can see her
The way she can hide
She's pulling you along
On a very slippy road
Are you ready and willing
Will you ever let go?
I hope one day you will see it
The hate inside of her
I hope one day you will hear it
The poison of her words
The things she can say
The shit she can do
Is it worth loosing everyone
Is that what you want to do?
MOM
I spent so many years hurting deep inside my soul
I spent so many years wondering if i'd ever know
Would I feel a mother's true love
Would I feel a mother's kiss
Would I know just how a mother
Can touch my aching heart?
Would I be able to run and hide
Behind a mother's wall
Would I be able to look up to her
as a model for my life
A mother such a sacrid gift
Everyone is born with one
A mother isn't simple
It's hard and painful I know
A mother's love is easy
My mother's love is hard
A mother's hugs are warm
My mother's hugs are hard
A mother protects her children
Not runs the miniute she can
A mother stands by her kids
Not take a stand against
I looked for years inside her
Wondering when a mother would appear
I looked for 19 years
And then suddlen she was here
A lady who is far away
I've never seen her face
I've never been held in a warm hug
Or a protective glance
I've never held her hand
Nor have I felt her take her stand
A mother was given to me
Yet she did not bring me here
She found me
And I found her
All alone I sit now here
My mother is so gentle
My mother is so great
My mother is so loving
My mother can save my world
My mother stands up for me
My mother never runs
My husband gave me a gift that day
When he handed me the phone
He gave me the gift of a mother
He was willing to share his own
No longer do I cry
For the women I didn't have
For she may not have the same blood
Running through her veins
I may have never met her
Or seen her face to face
But from her world to mine
I can feel her love each day
With every word she says
I feel her love shine bright
So thank you dave for sharing
Your dear mother with me
Now I know why my mother
Could not love me so
It was because she wasn't my mother
It was OUR mother who was ment to be.

Hi everyone!
I'm new to CafeMom and am so glad I found this group!!!
In my "spare" time I write anything and everything (poetry, plays, short stories) but I also play the guitar and write songs.
I wrote this one called "Love Floats" about my husband for our anniversary...
You're so beautiful
When you open to me
Your words are like waves
Washing over my feet
You bring out the best, I guess
That's how it's supposed to be
Perfect you perfects me
And I know there are dangers
Like getting caught in the net
But I'll take my chances
I'm not done swimming yet
Chorus: You turn me to liquid
Like a puddle against your toes
You turn me to liquid
With the kind of love that floats
Sometimes I get frustrated, but then you
Fill my lungs with hope
Cause I'm treading water, I'm growing weary
And you toss me a rope
And I know there are dangers
And monsters hidden from view
Those beasts scare me
But it's worth it for you
So this is my song
That I can't stop writing
Trying to make it sing how I feel
I'll be your battleship
And I'll never stop fighting
This is it, this is real
And I know there are dangers
Like getting lost at sea
But baby, if you can't find your way
Reach out for me
Chorus
Refrain: Your lips are like the ocean
And my tongue is a paddle
We'll let passion push us
We're guided by a candle
Now the current's flowing fast
I hang on to your hand, I will
Let you be the cowboy
And I'll be the saddle
CHORUS, fade
