  hi my name is vickie & i have 12 & 17 yr old boys-yeah me!   i'm a single mom & my oldest has aspergers.  he has been in & out of therapies since he was around 4-5yrs old.  this diagnosis has been something i have been in denial about for years. in less than a year he will turn 18 which is a WHOLE new set of issues!  i used to always tell myself (try to talk myself into believing actually) that he would "grow out of it" and be "normal"  someday.  i couldn't love him any more though & would never wish he were any different today-he is just perfect the way he is.  a friend told me about cafe mom & the groups available so i would love to get to know others, compare notes, chat & mabe even every now & then vent.  (try not to do the last one too often though).  have alot to share & would love to listen also.  please feel free to add me as a friend if you would like.
