Little guy jumped out of his crib...........gasp scared!

Tonight when putting the kids to bed, I am practicing tough love and letting my little guy cry it out to go to bed. He was doing well playing with a book, so we went into our daughters room to tuck her in, then bam, cry, fear.......he fell out, or jumped out of his crib. I am up late trying to keep him up, checking his eyes, ect.
Do you have any advice?

No advice since neither of my boys ever even tried, but I can only imagine how freaked out you must be!! Hope everything is okay and you get some sleep tonight.

My son never did it either. He would climb IN his crib, lol.  I'm expecting Micayla to try it someday though as she has many times tried to jump from things....did it once off the changing table and gave me a heart attack (thats long gone now).

Is his mattress down to the lowest level?

We got through the night I stayed in his room with him all night. Poor guy I woke him up several time to look at his eyes and to make sure he was ok. I am tired, but just glad he is alright. I would have never thought he would be able to climb over his crib, we do have one level to go down, so hubby will be working on that today.

Mine haven't done that yet, but I did as a baby. I think I was closer to 18 months. This reminds me that we need to lower M's.

The bed is lowered, and I think he actually is enjoying it, ge slept for 3hours

 Our youngest used to do that all the time... He Would use the wall as leverage and just jump. He did that to me like 4 times in one week... scared the heck out of me... Right after the all that, I went out  and bought him a toddler bed and that was that. It was rough for the 1st week...but he got adjusted to his big boy bed... and no more 'boom' and scaring the life out of me.

No, not yet thankfully.  B is 26 months and still in his crib, I actually dread the day we change it to the toddler bed.

It was right before C turned 2, when I put her in a toddler bed. She loved it, I was so nervous.
