Kid Magazines

I loved getting magazines in the mail as a kid, Highlights, Ranger Rick, and 'DinoTimes'?  I would run to my bedroom and read every page, do every puzzle!  I have been thinking of getting Highlights for my kids and now they have different magazines for toddlers and school-aged kids.  My 6yr. old will need some help with reading, but I think she's ready for Highlights. Does anyone get the toddler High Five magazine?  Is it worthwhile or are there other magazines I should look into for a 3 yr. old?  He seems to be interested in everything right now, animals, trucks, sports. Give me your thoughts and opinions please!  :)
