Going to be without my van for awhile.....

Hubby's truck is being used for work, 4 days a week, so he is going to have my van. I am sad because that means until Winter I will only have my van on Mondays. I guess I knew it would happen but just not use to the idea yet. Today is the first day, so we will see how it goes.
I guess it could be worse, I am very lucky to live near a park, and grocery stores.
Have you ever had to deal with being without transportation?

Nope and I think I would feel trapped! Of course, we've never lived close to anything so I have a different frame of reference. I guess right now I'd be okay since I'm down the street from the firehouse and could probably go ask them for a ride to the hospital if I needed it. ;)

When i first moved here 12 yrs ago. Hubby would work 10+ hrs a day and took me a month to get a job and car. I'd be so antsy to get out as soon as he got home that he would tease it was like having to let out a dog. Lol.

I would lose my mind without a car.  And now we're down to one car for a few weeks as well.  The positive side is we work together, so most days it's no big deal.  But on days when I'm home, I've been insisting on driving my hubby to work and picking him up.  Yes, I'd prefer to load all three kids up at 7:30am and then again at 3:30pm just so I won't be without a car, even if I don't have significant plans to go anywhere.  I have to have the option!

Hey, just trying to think practical here! I can't imagine calling 911 but I could walk down to the firehouse. :)

I couldn't imagine not having the option of being able to go somewhere.  However, I have not taken P anywhere all week, except to the grocery store.  I am sure if I was without a vehicle I would think of a million places I needed to go!  Sorry you are having to deal with this Carole!  I am sure it is frustrating especially with the two little ones!

Carole, if there's a playdate or something you know about ahead of time, I can keep the van and drive you guys too.  That's if it would be easier to switch the carseats than to drop-off and pick-up Rick though.

I went without a car for 7 months. It gets difficult at times but, I just always prepared for the next day so I was never without any necessities.
