My dog that I've had since he was born was run over by a truck today. I knew it would happen one day because he had picked up the habit of laying in the middle of the road of our subdivision. The man who hit him had stopped to let him go by and saw our other dog move and thought Booger had too, but he hadn't and the guy just rolled right over his rear end. We thought at first that he had just got his leg, but he wasn't that lucky. I feel so bad! I was so mad at him because he chewed up my brand new bra, my only bra. Last night he came up to me wanting me to pet him and I wouldn't because I was mad at him and now he's gone!! For all his faults I loved him so much, he was a regular fixture in my everyday life. Now I don't know what I'm going to do without him. Even my cats are mourning. When we brought our new kittens into our home he immediately took up with them and loved on them and slept with them. When he stopped breathing both of them started wailing. This is the second dog I have lost this year. The first one we had put to sleep because of heart worms. I had had her for 4 years. Oh! He's only been in the ground 30 minutes and I already miss my Boogies!!!!

  • Sorry about your loss. Just a little bit of advice. Learn from this  issue. Please don't let dogs run free. Accidents happen and when they do it does hurt everyone.   So I know your heart is broken we all have to learn the hard way.I too at one time was guilty of allowing them to wander near the road. lost my best friend..from an accident by a car. Now every one is trained ,not to leave the yard, without a leash and me. Behind a fence but enough space to be played with. Walked on leashes. I do know where they are  all the time. It's like having children with fur. So remember the good times and know in time it will get easier but not forgotten..

  • Update: Tuesday Booger's sister was also hit by a car and now my last remaining chihuahua has been missing for a day and a half now. They say it comes in threes, but did it have to be all three of my dogs ?!?
