Preschool?

My son is about to turn 4 and I am looking for a preschool for him.  I called Rainbow's End and will be going to check the out in July.  It will cost $295 a month for him to go 9-11:30 Monday through Friday and includes lunch.  That is a lot more than I paid for preschool for my girls, but I know things are more here.  Is that too high for this area? 

Has anyone heard anything about this preschool or any other ones I should check out.

I really need to get my son out of the house and around other people.  I am so worried he is going to be behind socially and educationally since he spends all his time with me.

do you live on post, they have cdc there,, if not then i don;t know

Yes they have a CDC on post but I do not want to use it.  They are packed with the deployment and after the bad experience we had with the on post Elementary school, I have no desire to use the resources on post, especially since we don't live there.

I sent DD to Young Learners.  I know you're in North Pole, but we did have parents drive their kids in just to go there.  It's amazing.  I totally love the teacher and DD has learned so much and had so many great experiences.  I highly recommend them.

We were looking at Fairhill Chirstian school for my son when he turns 4. It is 300 a month but it is more of a kindergarden preogram and all day

A coworker of mine had her son at Fairhill Christian for pre-k - 1st grade, but is moving him to a Catholic school this upcoming year.  She said everything at Fairhill was good except for the fact that they don't have a large indoor space for the kids to play when it's really cold outside.  That wasn't anything I ever thought about, but around here it's important!

My son (who is teeny tiny) is at Open Arms daycare right now and they've been amazing.  They have a pre-k program, but it's $749 a month.  So, the $295 isn't high for the area at all.  We'll probably move him somewhere else when he gets to pre-k age depending on how much the all-day programs are since $749 seems like a bit much to me...

Good luck!  I had a heck of a time finding child care here!
