Hello to all!!

Hello ladies!  My name is Sara and I just joined this group because I'm a new first time mom (very new... my son, Nathaniel is almost 3 months old) and am also pretty new to Fairbanks.  I've been here for about 10 months and have spent most of them working full time for the AK DOT and laying on the couch because I was pregnant and tired all the time.  So, needless to say I didn't get out and meet as many people I had hoped to when I first arrived!

Now that I have more energy again, the lovely weather is back, and my family is settling into life in Fairbanks, I would love, love, love to meet some other moms in Fairbanks.  I love walking/hiking, bike riding, camping, baking, crafts, party planning, and of course, spending time with my little man.  So, if there's anyone else out there who is interested in any of those things (or just going to get coffee or hanging out at the park ) I'd love to get together :)

I'm from Maryland and my hubby is from Connecticut, so we're far away from family, but are looking forward to eventually having an Alaskan family to enjoy this awesome place with.

Hi there Im Crystal my husand just got stationed in Fairbanks and is heading to Afganistan in 2 weeks so I decided to stay here in Washington with my family until January Febuary.   Even though Im not coming up until then I would love to keep intouch and when I do get there I am the first up for coffee!  I have a 5 year old boy and a 3 month old girl so our little ones can play together :)  I have to do the move by myself so Im really nervous and I have to ship my car (or have the army do It )  Is your hubby in the Army?  Do you live on Post?  We are going to live on post if we can get into the new houses.  Anyway hope that once I get there we can try to get together.

Hi!  My name is Courtney and I've been here since January.  My husband is in the Army and has been gone since April.  We hae 3 kids (13,9,4).  I am trying to branch out and meet new friends outside of the military, or atleast outside of my husband's unit, especially since we don't live on post.  We plan to be here for about 6 years, so it would be nice to make friends who won't be leaving soon. I am always looking to get out for coffee or just have someone to talk to.

Hi, I am Heather. I have 13 month old twin girls. I have been here for about three and a half years with no plans to leave. I love it here and my girls love to be outside as much as they can. I also work full time (for now... I am having childcare issues) but were always looking to meet new people and do fun activities.

Hey Sara! :) Congrats on your little one! I'm Sammi and Ive been in fairbanks since 2008, but was born and raised in Oklahoma..  My DH was born and raised here, he is a 3rd generation Alaskan!  I stay at home with my DD who is 13 months old. We dont get out as much as I would like.. she has pretty bad allergies.  I am home alone with her 8 weeks at a time because of my husbands job. So I've started sewing and am working on starting up a little business selling cloth diapers and cloth pads and ect.  Would love to get together sometime! feel free to add me and message me!
