What is a good curriculum or program for teaching reading 1st grade

 Read through some of the other posts in this group and you'll find tons of resources. I know for us it was a combination of computer, CD's and repetition that did it. I was able to pick up a Hooked on Phonics grade 1 set for like $15 on clearance, which is a cd that plays as you read through the text. My youngest LOVED it and learned to read in a very short time. My oldest likes more interactive methods and enjoyed http://www.starfall.com/ as well as http://www.time4learning.com/

Ebay has a lot of new never opened hooked on phonics stuff. well usually. havent been there for awhile. there are a loy of workbooks you can buy in walmart ora similar store and then use something like abcteach.com to add to it.
