The following book is phenomenal..Detoxification by Linda Page ND. She details the process, has tons of juicing recipes, and detoxes for everything under the sun...standard spring cleanse, all organs seperately, and ailments. There is a questionnaire in each section so you can determine which cleanse is best for you, and then she details the cleanse in terms of food, supplements, and bodywork you should do to cleanse properly. She is also a big raw food and sea vegetable proponent.

I highly recommend this purchase, I do all of my cleansing and coach others from info in this book.

The Importance of Safe Detoxification
by Linda Page

Essay Excerpt:
Are you already on the natural healing path -- eating better, taking herbs and supplements, exercising regularly? The truth is, no matter how great your program may be, environmental toxins affect all of us, year round, and build up in our bodies.

You may be feeling that your overall energy isn't as great as you like and you may be finding it more and more difficult to make it through the winter without feeling dragged out. Or you might be hanging on to a cold or other viral infection that you just can't seem to shake.

Not one of us is immune to environmental toxins. Almost everyone can benefit from a safe detox -- one of the best ways to remain healthy in a destructive environment. A safe detox program aims to remove the cause of disease before it makes us ill. It's a time-honored way to keep immune response high, elimination regular, circulation sound, and stress under control, so your body can handle the toxicity it encounters.

Detoxification and body cleansing is one of humanity's oldest healing techniques to renew health from the inside out. A cleanse clears up the pathways where wastes that impede healthy body functions are stored. In fact, detoxification may be the answer for preventing immune compromised diseases like cancer, candida, chronic fatigue, arthritis, diabetes and obesity.

After a cleanse, the body starts rebalancing and energy levels rise physically, psychologically and sexually. Creativity begins to expand. You start to feel like a different person and, of course, you are. Your whole outlook and attitude change because through cleansing and diet improvement, your actual cell makeup changes. You feel better when you clean out your body. You look better, and you think more clearly.

A good detox program is in 3 steps -- cleansing, rebuilding and maintaining. Years of experience with detoxification have convinced me that if you have a serious health problem, a brief 3 to 7 day juice cleanse is the best way to release toxins from the system. Shorter cleanses can't get to the root of a chronic problem. Longer cleanses upset body equilibrium more than most people are ready to deal with except in a controlled, clinical environment. A 3 to 7 day cleanse can "clean your pipes" of systemic sludge -- excess mucous, old fecal matter, trapped cellular and non-food wastes, or inorganic mineral deposits that are part of arthritis.

A few days without solid food can be a refreshing, enlightening experience. A short fast increases awareness and energy. Your body becomes easier to "hear." You will more easily recognize what foods and diet are right for your needs via cravings, like a desire for protein foods, B vitamins or minerals. It is like a "cell phone call," or natural body-biofeedback. This is a welcome change for most people.

A regular detox program two or three times a year makes a big difference not only for health, but also for the quality of our lives. Learn how to detox safely and effectively. In this article, Linda Page, N.D., Ph.D., a leader in providing natural health and wellness programs, presents the steps and important aspects to a safe detox.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Long before natural foods and herbal formulas became a "chic," widely accepted method for healing, Dr. Linda Page was sharing her extensive knowledge with those who dared to listen. Through what some would call an accident of fate but she calls a blessing, she was sequestered in a hospital with a life-threatening illness, watching her 5-foot frame wither to 69 pounds, her hair drop out, and her skin peel off, and doctors told her they had no cure. With only a cursory knowledge of herbs, she began a frantic research process of testing herbal formulas and healing food combinations on herself and began to formulate the many compounds which would eventually save her life, revitalize her health and restore beautiful new hair and skin. It was that incident that led her to seek her degrees in Traditional Naturopathy and Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health.

A prolific author and educator, Dr. Page has sold over a million books including Healthy Healing, Cooking For Healthy Healing, How To Be Your Own Herbal Pharmacist, Party Lights, Detoxification, Stress & Energy. She is also a master herbal formulator and received one of the first US Patents for her women's formulas. Dr. Page is a principle speaker at national health symposiums and conventions; she is featured regularly in national magazines; she appears on hundreds of radio and television programs and is featured on the television program, "The World of Healthy Healing."
