Meeting Jacob's teacher today!

We also get to meet my sons teacher today ! He also starts school on the 25th !

We got to meet Hunter's teacher last night and I loved the fact that she told us parents to label all of the kids school supplies and that what they don't use during the school year she will send home when school ends . The only thing that we found out that was new was that the school district is starting some thing new this year . There are two ending dates this year at school . Kids who have met the criteria to be promoted to the next grade level by May 22 will be exempt from attending the last nine days of school ( May 26 - June 5 ) and the students who do not meet the criteria to be promoted to the next grade level by May 22 will be required to attend classes through June 5 . My son has a learning disability as it is ! So I fear that he will be going to school till June 5th . I have also found out that with him being in 1st grade this year they have a program in our area called " Duck University "  which helps kids in 1st -12th grade who is struggling in school to help improve their learning skills and is free . i am signing him up for and hope that it really does help him improve . The only pit fall is, is that he will get on the bus in the morning at 6:30 am and will not get home till about 6pm M-F . That is a long day ! But I hope it will pay off in the end !
