I want to make the frosting I have thicker but I don't want to add more sugar, what else can I add and how much?

My first thought is cream cheese.  Corn starch or cream or tartar might work.

What kind (recipe?) is it? Did you add too much liquid? Sugar may be your only choice, but if you add a little lemon juice or fine salt that can help cut the sweetness. I have another trick that could work but would need to know how you made it to begin with, it doesn't work with all recipes, I've found that out the hard way!

Try putting it back in the fridge to cool - that'll make it stiffer.
