  • How many kids do you have? One right now, but we want many more

    what are their ages?21 months

    boys or girls? boy

do any of them play sports? too little, but I am not interested in sports at all, hate'em...but if he chooses to later on, I am fine with that. we're not a sporty family...so he really wont be exposed to much, but whatever he wants to do, we'll explore.

musical instruments? He's been a drummer since he was tiny...seriously...before he even turned 1, I saw him drum out a rhythm and pattern on the coffee table, I've seen him play hand drums and look and sound like he actually know what he's doing. Even if he never plays drums, I can tell he's musical. We're a music family.

Do you watch what tyhey eat? explain I made home made organic baby food for him when he was little, he rarely gets sugar, junk foods, etc, and he eats a very balanced (not according to the FDA pyramid...that thing's junk), healthy, organic (when we can aford it), diet. We eventually plan to grow most of our own food and eat more of a traditional Apache or NA diet.

Do you monitor their tv?in what way exactly? We're TV free.

Do they ever go and spend the night with friends?too little, but even when he's "old enough" it will be a no. we have strong feelings as to why not.

do their friends stay at your house?too little, but we're undecided about this when he gets older

do you celebrate Easter?how? No, we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, we try to avoid the word "easter" - we don't do the bunny, egg, candy junk at all, we go to church and then to great grandma's house for lunch. We also celebrate passover, as we feel that the Jewish history of Christianity is often overlooked and not understood by most Christians, so we participate in some Jewish celebrations - passover is important to us because of the "last supper" and Christ's role in it.

do you celebrate Christmas?Yes, no santa, no fake stories...just the truth. We limit the number of toys he gets - if he gets too many, we give them away. We also want to teach him the value of giving and try to participate in charities (year round as well, but giving for Christmas). We read the Christmas story to him. We go to one set of great-grandparent's on Christmas eve, and the other set on Christmas morning. DH has a large family, lol. We do put up a tree, but we're considering not doing that in the future...we're undecided.

What form of punishment do you use the most? We're still in the child "training" phase, so there are only a few things he understands not to do, or to do, and that he gets in trouble for. We spank. We explain to him what he did wrong, and what he needs to do, when we spank him. He always gives us hugs afterward and we tell him that we love him.

What other types do you use? none

What is the one thing you do,that you wish you didn't?We determined when we started teaching/training him that we would never spank him out of anger or frustration, and we would never yell at him. There have been a few times where we find ourselves doing these things, or tempted to do these things.

what would you want your children to grow up to be?Godly adults

do they have chores? do they get allowance? At his young age of 21 months, he already knows how to pick up his toys, and when to pick them up, so he does this every day at nap time and bed time. Otherwise, he's mommy and daddy's helper in various other chores - he likes to follow us around and do what we do...he helps with laundry, dishes, fixing things, etc. Daddy is quickly becoming hero - so he's following daddy around more lately.

do they go to public school or private? or do yoiu homeschool? We plan on homeschooling

What gifts do you see in them?He is very smart, mentally developing beyond his age, and he has rhythm, creative, intuitive.

What special thing do you guys do together? or share? We still nurse, and this is special for us.

  • How many kids do you have? * One.

what are their ages? * 7 years old

    boys or girls? *Girl

do any of them play sports? *Yes. She's a cheerleader and is in gymnastics classes. She's also taking ballet/tap (not sure if those are considered sports or not).

    musical instruments? *Yes. Piano.

Do you watch what tyhey eat? explain; *Yes. We're trying to eliminate all processed foods, all dyes and artificial preservatives. Also, we rarely let her have fast food.

Do you monitor their tv? in what way exactly? *Yes. She is not allowed any tv during the day, and then she is only allowed kid-appropriate shows, that I've screened in advance.

Do they ever go and spend the night with friends? *No.

do their friends stay at your house? *No.

do you celebrate Easter?how? *Yes. We do the whole egg hunt thing, but only after reading the story of Christ's resurrection, and discussing what that means.

do you celebrate Christmas? *Yes. We also have a tree/presents for our daughter, but again, the focus is on helping others (we go to serve food at a homeless shelter on Christmas Eve, and take clothing/blankets/non-perishable food items to homeless and battered women and children shelters), and discussing the true meaning of the season with our daughter.

What form of punishment do you use the most? * Take away prilieges.

What other types do you use? *Rarely do I spank.

What is the one thing you do,that you wish you didn't? *Argue with my husband, in front of my daughter.

what would you want your children to grow up to be? *Happy, healthy, devoted Christian

do they have chores? *Yes. She is to keep her room cleaned and toys put away after using.

    do they get allowance? *Yes.

do they go to public school or private? or do yoiu homeschool? *Homeschool

What gifts do you see in them? *She has a gift for making others feel at ease. She's a friend to everyone. Also, she loves animals, and she is a wonderful singer.

What special thing do you guys do together? or share? *We're together all day long, so we do most everything together. She likes to help me with laundry, preparing meals, feeding the animals and taking care of them. We often go for walks together and talk. She loves for me to read to her and pray with her.

  • How many kids do you have? 1

what are their ages? 2 1/2 years old

    boys or girls? girl

do any of them play sports? not yet but I think she will

musical instruments? not yet but she loves guitars and drums

Do you watch what tyhey eat? explain; yes. We try and stay away from high frutose corn syrup. we also don't allow a lot of sugar except for one cup of 100% juice a day and she can also have dessert if she eats all of her dinner. She is also a very picky eater so we struggle some with food. We don't allow her to eat junk food.

Do you monitor their tv? in what way exactly? Yes. She gets to watch some in the morning and some in the afternoon/evening and only age appropriate shows that teach her things.

Do they ever go and spend the night with friends? not yet cause she is still too young but we will eventually allow her if we know the parent's very well and they have similar beliefs as ours.

do their friends stay at your house? not yet but eventually they will

do you celebrate Easter?how? Yes but not with the Easter Bunny. We do give her a homemade Easter basket and we do participate in an egg hunt but we always go to church first and we will always tell her the real reason why we celebrate Easter. (Jesus)

do you celebrate Christmas? Yes but nothing to do with Santa. She gives and gets presents from family members and us. And we teach her about the birth of Jesus.

What form of punishment do you use the most? Telling her to stop or don't do what she is doing, timeout with an explaination of why followed by a hug and her apologizing, an occasional slap on the hand with explanation of why. Spanking is allowed but last unless absolutely necessary for that situation. Again she is also only 2 1/2.

What other types do you use? I mentioned them all above

What is the one thing you do,that you wish you didn't? I wish my attitude was more upbeat on a regular basis b/c I know I am my daughter's example

what would you want your children to grow up to be? A Mighty Woman of God

do they have chores? she helps mommy clean up her toys

do they get allowance? not yet but in the future possibly

do they go to public school or private? or do yoiu homeschool? not in school yet. We would like it to be private school though.

What gifts do you see in them? She loves music and musical instruments so I see her being musically talented.

What special thing do you guys do together? or share? We cuddle, we play dress up, we read books, we do crafts, she sometimes helps me cook in the kitchen.
