Parents have long since debated whether a child is destined for greatness, or failure because of genetics. Or perhaps it has everything to do with how our parents raised us.

Discuss what you believe.

Does genetics play a major part in your life's success and failures? How do you believe nature has affected your children?

Does Nurture play a major part in your life's success and failures? How do you believe nurture has affected your children?

I believe in nurture over nature. I think that some people can be more predisposed to certain behaviors, but so much of who they become as adults is determined by how they are trained and reared in the early years.

I believe we are about 65% Nature and 35% Nurture, when it comes to personality development. It is easier to ovecome negative "upbringing" than negative genetic personality traits. I believe there was an article published about this in psychology today thats said personality was 80% nature, but I still think we should give nature some credit..
