My name is Christina and I've been freelancing for almost a year. I recently started as a Buzz Blogger on Prevention and I've met some really great people. I have three children ages 4, 3, and 9 months. I have a Master's degree and was a high school English teacher before I began staying home with my children. I love the fact that freelance writing fits in so well with staying home with my children. I have been married to my husband for 6 years and I think I may have scored the last perfect man out there! I was recently laid off and decided to pursue my writing seriously. I have always wanted to join a writing group, take writing workshops and eventually get published. I thought I introduced myself, but I just read through all these great posts, and I guess I didn't! I find all of you really inspiring. I live in Massachusetts and I have two kids, 12 and 14. I worked in the public school system as a tutor for the last three years, and before that in advertising. I have always been very involved with the schools, as a PTO President and founder of the Family Center, which brings speakers in to discuss issues and parent concerns. My writing in the past has focused on personal essays, but now I'm branching out. I'm taking an online course on writing children's books, and I am posting as the Teen Issues Examiner to the Boston examiner (thanks to a tip from this group!) Hello my name is Karen, I am a mother of a 4.5 yr old going on 40. I am married and I have little experience getting things published as of yet except for poetry.com. Which I have submitted some poems under Karen Kathlene Meano (before I was married). I am looking to find places to publish as well as learn.
A lifetime ago, I taught writing at local college and worked in corporate communications, writing, editing, designing for internal and external publications...right now, I am a SAHM....
I just started leading a creative writing group at the local library...I started it because I need a supportive environment...and my house is so chaotic that I really can't sit and just write at home...I am also volunteering (writing, editing, and layout) for a local autism newsletter.
I am married to a great guy...have two amazing sons with him...and a cat that follows me everywhere....
Hi, I'm Sarah. I am a SAHM to 5 kids. Three girls & 2 boys, ages 14, 9, 6, 6, & 5. I love to write but have not attempted to have anything published yet. I started writing a blog on my myspace page & the people who read it thought it was hysterically funny. Hopefully, that will be the basis for more writing. I'm just starting out & haven't even seriously figured out what I need to do so I thought joining this group would be a good place to start. Cheers!

Hi! My name is Kim (30). I have two children with one on the way. I have been doing freelance writing on and off for the last 5 years or so. I did have a steady freelance job for almost 2 years but unfortunately the business went under. I haven't found too many other jobs and am always on the look out. I have been writing stories since I was in 3rd grade and really enjoy writing both fiction and non-fiction. Looking forward to getting to know all the other writers.
