Have you ever used a company sponsored Instant Tax Refund service like the one at H&R Block or one of those pre-refund loans where you borrow $$ now from the company using your upcoming refund as collateral?

What do you think?  Is it worth the fees to get the money earlier or is it a scam?  Should there be government involvement or control?

We did it last year, but they base how much you get back on a RAL on your credit.

Is an RAL like your credit score?  I just don't know the term.

RAL is some term HR Block uses that is about the Rapid Loan.  I don't remember.  We did it last year and because of our credit, they gave us $300 of our $4000 up front.
