Today was our first day in the hospital, and we had our orientation. We'd been having trouble all morning trying to get through the EMR system and then getting the glucometers to work. Then we went to lunch, and just after we left the conference room, I heard a thud down the hall. Our instructor had tripped over her shoes (which she'd been having trouble with all morning), and hit her knee, shoulder and face on the floor! She busted her upper lip, putting her teeth into it, has a growing hematoma on her chin, and was absolutely mortified. She spent the next hour in the ER (luckily about 50 feet from where she fell), and we ended up having to cancel the rest of the day. What an adventure! Luckily she's okay, and she has support at home to help her get through the weekend. Hopefully this isn't an omen!!
