6 week period with IUD? HELP!

I have had my IUD since Febuary 2009.  After I have my two children, I had irregular periods. When I continued to have irregular periods after the IUD was inserted, I didn't pay it any mind. The last week of November came and I got my period and have had it ever since no stop. Is this normal to happen when you have an IUD? I also have clots with this terribly long and heavy period.  Any advice will be welcomed... thanks....

Mine was like that for the 1st year or so and now its much better. I dont think IUD's are for everyone but its worked for me.
