Pregnant with Merina

I'm new to the group and i could use all the support I can get. I have had a few IUD's over the years give me trouble (I have had one perforate my uterus and 1 fall out), now I have a whole new issue, after weeks of being sick I went to my friends wedding to find that my dress didnt fit over my chest anymore (I had just tried it on 3 weeks before and it fit fine) so all the girls started making fun of me saying I was pregnant, I took it as a joke because I have an IUD, well my friend talked me into taking a test so i did to humor her.. boy was i surprised when it came out positive! So I ran to the Dr thinking either my IUD came out or it's a tubal.  During the US I was so freaked out I couldnt even look at the screen, The IUD is laying sideways across the bottom of my uterus and I am 10 weeks pregnant! WTH!! I never imagined Id get preggo with an IUD, i never even thought it was possible. I'm so scared Im going to lose this baby, my doctor gave me a 50% chance of making it to term, but if I can make it past 20 weeks she thinks ill be ok. Im so scared and nervious I don't even know what to do.

how scary! i wish you all the luck in the world! they dont plan on taking the IUD out? how is it just laying on the bottom of your uterus? did you feel any pain?

They said they would only pull it out it it was starting to come out on it's own, the way its laying they wouldnt be able to get it without dilating my cervix and inserting something in there to grab it so they just have to leave it. I guess its laying across the bottom of my uterus right across my cervix instead of straight up. I have had cramps but nothing major and every now and then i get sharp pains, Thankfully as of now I havent had any spotting or bleeding.

How are you doing with this now? I'm 9 weeks along, with Mirena, and mine has been pushed up to the top of my uterus, so it can't be removed either.

Hello Ladies, I also got pregnant with the Mirena in 2008.  Mine also couldnt be removed.  I wish you both luck and will pray for you.

WOW! I am just in shock, I've been on Mirena a little over a year and am just now finding out it's effects. (Everything makes sense now) I am looking into having munes removed, ASAP. I wish you the best of luck, I'm sure you will have a beautiful & healthy baby!
