I had my son July 29, 2009 and my mirena was inserted 6 weeks after. At first I loved the mirena, I thought it was absolutely amazing. Until about a year, I started getting tired, i realized how much energy I had really lost. I realized I've gained 50lbs since i had it inserted. Hair loss. Moodiness. A bunch of little things that added up and really worried me. It also caused me to grow a small cyst. Well long story short, the dr had cut the strings to short, I neither the dr have ever been able to feel them. The health department couldn't pull it out because the strings were too short. So I had to go to an obgyn. It was orginally supposed to be $4oo for the dr visit and the procedure to get the mirena removed. I get there this morning and the dr looked didn't see anything. So he had to dilate me and numb my cervix. (To Numb: had to get 2 shots in my cervix-Worst Pain I've ever felt!-) The pain was awful. But soon after that he was holding up my mirena. Didn't even feel him pull it out. =) So happy it's out, even though it ended up costing me $730. Started spotting right then. Still just spotting. Will update soon on how I feel!!

I feel so much better, getting back to my old self ;) already lost6lbs in one week!! My energy level is so awesome. i dont feel like i need a nap 24/7 lol.
I just got mine out On Friday!! and I am excited as well!!.. Mine luckily was only $60 to remove.. But I feel so much better.. and Omg I love sex again!! LOL!!
Mirena also altered my moods and especially energy.. Im still tired.. but Not as bad as before.. I also started taking vitamin B complex which the dr told me will help a lot. She told me.. that the mirena has progestrone in it, and thats the hormone we get when we PMS.. So that would explain my bitchiness.. lol..
Anyway.. she said it does cause all the symptoms I had. I am so glad to be me again! and I am happy for you!! I hope I can lose these 30lbs I gained from mirena
Awe thats great. ive already lost 6 lbs since having it removed. but yeah i always felt like i did when i was on my period..lol that explains

Ok that you for all of this information because I thought i was going crazy lately. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow to see about getting this out.
:) most drs deny that mirena can cause this. but my dr and others KNOW it can cause all that!!!! GL Girl!!!!!!

It went great!! Sorry, I forgot, I put it in a totally new post, lol. But it's out. No problems at all, just a pinch and it was over. I took a pic of it and was like, "OMG, that's what was in me? EW!" But I feel fine, taking my prenatals and enjoying my peace of mind. =)
