I have always had a history of migraines...even in grade school I can remember having to go home because I had one get so bad.  But here just the past month or so they have been increasing to the point now where I am getting one almost every other day.  I had the Mirena put in around September 15th or so.  I figured if I had problems with it triggering the migraines it would have occured before now but I can't come up with any other reasons.  I have kept headache journals and I am familiar with what triggers them.  I have pelvic pain from time to time too.  Has anyone else had problems with this IUD triggering migraines?  Do you think it is worth a trip to a neurologist first before deciding to have this thing removed?

Its most likey because of the IUD. That's one of the sideaffects... YUCK, i had one every other day the couple months after i had it placed in May of 07'

I had them, but not as much as I have after i got my IUD in. (mirena)

Im gonna have mine removed sometime.. not sure though... im sick of being moody and having headaches!! lol

I kept getting headaches and so i had mine removed. the doc told me that it would take 3-6 weeks for the hormone that is in the iud to leave my body and the headaches she go away by then. the headaches are a side effect to the iud.
