iud took all my joys away

hello,everybody!!i'm new in cafemom!they inserted my iud last month,ladies late me tell yo,is crazy,i'm gaining weigth,bleeding for 14 days,always feeling so sad,i don't know,is anyone experiences this?

Hi there i had a period that lasted 4 ever!! so i called my dr.. he put me on some tyoe of hormone that cleared that up! but still havent seen that " light to no periods that they have talked about!!

ive had the IUD for a year and a half now and at first i did not like the side effects ( bleeding, moody, etc..) but my doc kept telling me that the effects will pass and sure enough they did. i love it now and its great not having to worry about getting pregnant again

I am moody all the time!! :( I bleed for a week or so. Got it in Dec. No bleeing whatsoever since  ( still bfing though)

ive had mine in since august of 07 and ive been fine. ive had some periods but nothing too heavy. what kind di you have put in? mine is the one without the hormones so i think thats why it doest affect my mood, but i can feel it sometimes when we... well you know. lol other than that its great

I have had my IUD for 6 years and I have had many of these same problems. From back pain to weight gain, I want to sleep all the time. When I first got my IUD I did not even have a period, Now when I have my period it  last 14 days at a time and for the rest of the month I am spotting. I feel bad from day to day and I am very lazy, I have 3 kids and I don't want to do anything. I just made an appointment for the 7th of this month to get my IUD taken out. Good luck to the rest of you.

I had that problem too i also have the problem of bleeding alot during sex

Which IUD do you have? My iud was Mirena and it's only good for 5 years. and It sucked. I had it removed after 3 years. I found out that's why I was miserable.

I am in this EXACT same perdicitment! Litterally last night me and my DH talked about everything and I am calling today to make an appointment to get it taken out.

I had similar reactions only i bled for the first 6 mos straight. Developed bad acne, major mood shifts, bad pains, hot flashes...etc.. Then after 6 mos my periods were 2 weeks long as well. I just had it removed last month after having it in for 11 mos. The mirena was def not for me. Some women like them but never again for me. They said it should adjust itself in 3 mos but mine never did..
