Do any of you use Accelerated Math in you classroom?  I am going to introduce it to my class tomorrow and was wondering if you could share any suggestions.

Model, practice, model, practice, practice, practice1

That means EVERYTHING!  From how to show their work to how to fill out the scan cards.

I don't use it this year, but I have in the past. MAKE SURE you give each student a folder to keep their work in... and MODEL, MODEL, MODEL!! You have to show them where their form number is, how to fill in the scantron, etc. Make sure you have a system in place- when can they scan their cards? Do they do it, or do you? What if they get stuck?

Just a tip-- any stray marks on the scan card can render is useless. Be sure they erase completely!

AND you may want to teach a student (later one in the year) how to print exercises and tests, if you choose to use those... such a time-saver!

You're going to use LOTS AND LOTS of paper, so be prepared!
