Beds for the kids?

I'm thinking of selling all of our twin beds and then going out and buying twin bunk beds.  We don't have room any more to keep using regular beds.  I just don't know where to get a good deal on one.  What do you use with your growing family and where do you get it at?

what about a loft bed? Walmart sells some cheap ones, you can just position them over your already existing twins and voila instant (cheap)  bunk bed

I went to Ikea and got 2 bunk beds that has a twin on top and a queen on the bottom. My older girls use one bunk bed and for now I use the lower bunk of the second one for my toddlers.

People are always trying to get rid of bunk beds when their children grow up.  You should be able to find lots of them at garage sales, newspaper ads, and free (give-away) websites, such as Willmar Freecycle.  Walmart and Kmart also have new bunk beds that cost a few hundred dollars.  You could try putting up an ad in your church, and let all your friends and relatives know you are looking for bunk beds.  We got one set at a used furniture store, and another we bought from a friend that got it at a garage sale.

However, be aware that bunk beds can be dangerous when you have little children in the house.  They like to climb on them, and can fall off and get hurt badly.  I'd suggest waiting as long as you can before you get them, until your little ones are 5 or older.

My 2 oldest would be the ones using it.  They are 7 & 5.  We did end up getting a really nice bunk bed for a great deal!  They love it!  I need to take pictures of them in it and post but I keep forgetting.  We got it at a furniture store in our town.  They were having sales that day.

$415---- SHIPPED FREE!

These are the beds we have....they are WONDERFUL!   VERY sturdy! I can't even tell you how impressed I am with these beds!  All  you need is the top mattress for them, no bunky boards or anything  because they come with a lot of slats! Seriously...you will not regret ordering from this company. They have a bunch of different styles too...I just gave the link to the one we own. :)

and...sorry if I sound like an advertisement...I just couldn't believe how wonderful these were for the price!

We have twin bunk beds with a trundle built into them up off the ground. It is like having a triple bunk bed! This saves us alot of room. We have 2 of these set ups and one bunk bed and a twin bed with a trundle. 10 beds in all, but only taking up floor space for 4 beds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have four bunk beds all together. It works out pretty good, with as many kids as I have sharing a room is a must.
