Next school year I'm starting homeschooling and since they will be home all day they will have to help a lot more around the house.  At first I thought about having my kids earn money by doing the house work.  Dh was agreeing to it too.  My thing is we aren't done having kids.  Soon enough we won't be able to afford that.  So I would like to do something else that they could earn but I have no idea what.  What do you do or do you have any ideas?  They will be 6 & 8yo.

At my house the kids earn special times. They can be 30 min on the computer or the Wii. Bubble baths, choice of what we have for dinner one night, choice of what we watch on tv for one hour or choice of the next movie watched at family night. The choices can be unlimited and can fit any age group. I think paying kids to do their chores sets an example to them that they will get money for doing the things they are supposed to do.  Hopw this helps. Michelle

Staying up later, choosing the dinner for a specific night if they do what they suppose to do the rest of the week. My kids all have a chore each day they must do or they get no priviledges that day. We home school too. They get up ,get completely dressed, eat breakfast, and do their chore before we start school.  There chore is a 10- 15 miute chore max, but helps out so much with there being so many of us. They have to have showers , computers turned off, and there rooms straightened(not thouroughly cleaned) by six on week days. This makes home schooling so much easier. Our quiet time is between 8&9 and lights are out around 9. Now weekends are different! Some of my kids came in from playing after dark tonight, we even ate a later dinner.
