I have decided that my little family(6 of us so not little I guess) are going to start doing more traditions together.  one that i wanted to start was a weekly dinner that was special and kinda a big deal.  I decided sundays would work best for us.  our extended families(both mine and dh's are not really in the picture so it would just be us).

my question is does anyone else do this, make one night a week a special family night.  If so can i get some suggestions to go along with it.

Thanks so much!

After our "work day" on Saturdays we have fun day on Sunday.  We either go somewhere that costs little to nothing or hang out together as a family.  Another tradition we have is "Party night"  About once a month we have BBQ little smokies, cut cheese, fruit and veggies, different lunch meats and crackers for dinner and watch a movie together.  Sometimes its a new movie other times it is one we have not watched for a while.  For a special dinner I would suggest having special plates you only use on that night.  My kids love it when we use our matching set instead of our individual plates.  I also have special glasses, tablecloth and napkins we only use for special dinners.  They like to pretend we are out to eat at a fancy restaurant and use their best manners.
