Do you use BC or just wing it? Did you plan your babies? I'm not on BC and I want more but not right not mainly because I have trouble producing breastmilk when I'm pregnant and nursing my 12 week old is more important right now. I would do NFP but no period and I'm allergic to all BC. Did you get pregnant on BC, while breastfeeding, planning? Where they surprises or planned? I'm trying to decide what to do. Everyone around me is telling me I'm insane for having so many kids (4) and wanting more. They tell me to get my tubes tied. So I obviously won't hear any success stories from them. What is the age gap between your children? Tell me about your family and how it came to be please. I need to hear some positive family stories. Thank you!

I know the feeling of not having others around support you... but I've decided what is right for us is what matters most!  We have 4 children, and I'm pregnant with #5.  Our kids are 10, 8, 6, 3 and due in October.  We have not used BC at all during the time we've had children.  For me breastfeeding worked as a great method of bc and nfp.   All of our children were planned, other than 1, which we miscarried almost 2 yrs ago.    After this baby, we do feel like our family is complete, so we will be doing the permanent method of bc.  I would say don't make a final decision until you know for sure- and I think you will know.  I never thought I'd be "done".. and I really feel good about our decision!  Good Luck!

I dont have a "big" family yet. But I can tell you my plan.

We are waiting a little while because we plan on moving into a house come spring time. And I am also in college at the moment. Its a snails pace but its there.

I tried BC it did not like me. Pills just made me nauseas all the time. I had Mirena and had a horrible time with it. So I just said well forget that..For now we are using NFP---just avoiding sex during fertile times. I don't temp or anything like that. I just track my cervical mucous and ever since I was 15 I could tell before I was fertile ( of course I didnt care back then. lol). And if something happens between now and spring time when we'd like to start trying then thats ok. :) I just like to not be pregnant while buying a house and moving if I can help it. It would be nice to space the next baby a bit farther than one year.

So thats the jiisst of it hopefully concieve baby #3 sometime 2012.

I have 12 children so far. I stopped BC and got pregnant with my 1st 1 month later(FF), my 2nd I was on BC and begged my hubby for a 2nd child, it took a couple of months and got pregnant again(FF),My 3rd child  was the first one I BF. I was on BC and stopped taking it when she was 5 months old. From my 3rd child on I didn't use anything. All our children were very much planned but we didn't start off saying oh we want a big family. We just had 1 child at a time. When we had twins #8,#9 was the first time we knew we had a big family and wanted as many as we weren't meant to have  . We love everything about our family.

Hello,

We have 5 children and they are all blessings!!! We have a daughter who is 7 and 4 sons ages 5, 4, and the twins are two. We here the same kind of comments from our families mostly so I know how you feel but don't let it get you down! Our first two were planned our third was a surprise but then we decided that since we had one girl and two boys we would try for our second girl and even it up. Well then we ended up with twin boys! They are perfect though and I wouldn't  trade them for anything. But after the twins we were surrounded by negativity and from that I decided to get my tubes tied and my husband had a vasectomy and we both regret it! Not because we want more kids right now but there is no option anymore. It really takes a toll on you (both of you). So my advice is to enjoy the ones you have now but always leave the option open. You sound very family oriented so don't let others ruin that for you. We have a great family life! Yes it's hectic ALL the time but it's fun and nothing could ever compare!

We have a blended family.  My husband had 4 children with his first wife. I had 2 with my first husband.  We didn't plan on having any together and well low and behold while we were saving to get dh fixed we got pregnant.  Not only with one but twins.  After the twins we decided we weren't done and wanted at least 2 more.  Number 9 turned 4 months last weekend and we plan on TTC sometime this summer.  We just use NFP but with him working in a different state right now and being gone for over 6 weeks at a time and only being home for a day and a half before returning, not much of a chance conceiving at this point anyways LOL.  That will bring our total up to 10 but we are not doing anything permanent.  I will be getting a copper IUD in case I get baby fever again.

Oh the ages are (step children) 15(sd), 14(ss), 13(ss), 8(sd)......my children 9(dd), 7(dd)........our twins are 5 and baby boy is 4 months.

I use the nfp.  Nursing works as a great birth control for me and so far I've been able to catch when I start getting those fertil symptoms.

We have 3 children and I'm pregnant with #4. Our children were all planned, I had an IUD in for about 1 year between baby #3 and this pregnancy and decided it was time to try again so I had it taken out and 3 months later I got pregnant. I was also on the pill before I got pregnant with baby #2. I think after this baby we will be done for a little while maybe 4-5 yrs and then maybe have one more I feel like 4-5 children would be the most we could finacially afford right now, but once dh is out of college we may want more with him getting a better paying job. so nothing permanent until we both feel comfortable with it.

The age spacing with out children is..

#1-#2  22 months

#2-#3 18 months

#3-#4 2 yrs 8 months (our biggest space yet)

I have 4, 3 boys and 1 girl and she was last, they are 10, 8, 6, and 5, and we have #5 on the way which was our longest wait..1yr 11 months with the first 2, then 2 and a half yrs with the 8 and 6 yr olds, then when the last boy was 7 months old we got pg with my dd and it was a little scary, but they are so much fun, love that age gap, and then this one will almost be 6 yrs apart from my dd...I set out wanting 5, not sure how many I would want, but I know my dd needs a sister, so here's to hoping!
