Hi, I'm Kate. I also added this post to another large family group, so if you already read this feel free to ignore this :) I am 41 years old. I just found this site through a search on google and thought this site looked like it would be fun so I decided to join. I've been married to my husband, Mike for 20 years. We have 10 children together, 5 girls and 5 boys. Our oldest is Nicole, she is 19, Carter is 17, Lauren is 15, Kyle is 13, Sarah is 12 and Jacob is about to turn 10 on the 28th of this month. My twins, Jessica and Kendall are 8, Brayden is 6 and our youngest, Max is going to turn 2 on December 31st.
When are out as a family, we always get rude looks and comments, such as "Are they all yours?", "Are you finished yet?" and my all time favorite "Haven't you heard of birth control?" Have you experienced this as well? If so, how do you deal with it? If it's coming from a stranger, I usually try to ignore it but, it just ticks me off that people can't keep their rude comments to themselves and mind their own business.
One last question, since I am new to this, which groups do you suggest I join?

hi! What a beautiful family you have :) I am one of 5- and my mom has gotten many of those comments. Its awful. I currently have 3 kids, and would love to have 6, but realistically we'll probably have 4 (mayyyybe 5 ;) As it is, people look at me like I've lost my mind. While preggo with my 3rd baby (she was born in August) I had many rude comments like "Are you done now?" It's so frustrating. I feel a desire in my heart to have a big family, and I don't think its anyones business but my husband and I's.
Anyways, kudos to you for your large family. And we both are just going to have to learn to ignore ignorant comments :(
I'm mostly oblivious to strange looks. Just yesterday I was out with my 11 month old and someone told me it looked like I had my hands full? I was like "What?" maybe it isn't the number of kids...just the frazzled look on my face. lol
I love being on cooking groups and I'm on one local group.
