what do you do with clothes your children have outgrown?
For years now I have consigned my kids clothes they outgrow. I use to take them to Kid to Kid (or whatever it's called) in Douglasville. It's the one that's in the Kroger shopping center on Hwy 5 but use to be behind the McDonald's on Hwy 5. But anyway I quit going to her as she was so picky and didn't pay much. When my boys were younger I went to a place in Bremen and then another place in Carrollton but both those places went out of business so for a while now I've been going to Wear Me again. She isn't too picky and you can just bring it in garbage bags. It doesn't even have to be only one season type clothes in one bag. I throw long sleeve shirts, pants and shorts and sundresses all in the same bag and she doesn't care. But the draw back is she pays you after they sell giving you half of what she sells it for and keeping the other half for herself which is fair but then if she has a half off sale and sells it for half her regular price I barely make anything. I typically buy more than I sell to her so it's almost more of a trade plus spend more type thing. I get frustrated trying to find things in there b/c she puts so much out the racks are cramed up till you can barely get things off. I went in there today with DD. We went to the dressing room to try on things to find it a total mess with clothes all over the floor and a ton of clothes hangers in the floor as well. I had to clean up the mess before we had room to try on anything. I don't know if it's worth my trouble taking things in there or not. Sometimes I give things to people at church or have a yard sale. So what do you do with your kids clothes they outgrow?
My girls are all so close in age we keep everything in totes up in the attic. I have been going to some of the church sales to get things for Mary and give some things to a neighbor who has a baby girl the same age as Grace.
