OK - I think I have it figured out - I made a M1 in knit wise and a M1 purl wise - and I have no holes -I opened two different M1 videos - and replayed each of them until I got all in the round of the hat - done - I am going to try the next row on my own wish me luck -

I am counting stitches to make sure I got it to match the pattern -

round 7 - K1,M1knitwise,K1,P1,M1 purlwise, P1- you should have 72 stitches

I too have holes with the M1 increase and rarely use it.  So after your post I watched several youtube videos and I can see how to make a M1 w/o holes....yay! thank goodness for youtube!   LOL

1 mom liked this

I am almost done - just working on the top - and no holes - I am really happy with the way it is coming out - and my grand daughter likes it also -  just a bit late for Christmas

Great job Sandy!  What yarn are you using?  I love the color & it looks like there are some sequins in it too!

you rock

well it is finished - the yarn - was a bulky - yarn with sequins - Contessa by Rozetti Acrylic and Mohair  - -

it shows in the center - where I had to change needle sizes as I did it on size 11 needles and the largest DPN's I have are a 10 - so it came out a bit tight - but I think it came out fine - for a third try - :)
