Looking for a good pediatrician

My husband and I live in Dana Point, CA and are expecting in November.

I wanted to see if anyone could refer a good pediatrician to us.  If so, what do you like about your ped?

In general, I would like to find a ped who is compassionate and patient.  Who has an open mind to my beliefs about things like vaccination schedules.  Who is a good knowledgable doctor who keeps current with the latest medical advancements.

Thanks!

I read some good reviews for Southern Orange County Pediatrics:

23321 El Toro Road
Lake Forest, CA 92630

(949) 770-0513

I recommend going and checking out the office in advance, meeting the potential doctor, seeing the staff and waiting room, etc.  Bring some questions to make sure that the doctor follows the same thinking that you do and will respect your wishes as a parent.

Another great resource for moms and moms-to-be is CityMommy.  We have a message board where you can ask all kinds of questions, which is very helpful with a newborn.  There is also a big directory (continuing to grow even bigger) with resources for parents throughout Orange County, as well as listings for kid-friendly restaurants, activities, classes and more.  Membership is free!  http://oc.citymommy.com - hope to see you as our newest member!

I go here and it is very good but if you don't want to vaccinate your child you really should go to Dr. Sears in San Clemente. I am choosing to vaccinate only certain ones and I have had nothing but trouble with my ped. If you are planning on AP parenting or extended BF I would really consider Dr. Sears

I have also heard good things about Dr. Eric Ball in Ladera Ranch.  I don't know his beliefs regarding vaccines, but I have a couple of friends that love him.  I think they also have a Lake Forest office.
