birthing positions?

Hi!

We're about 33 weeks and I am wanting to start really looking into the different positions that helped others delivery their babies.
We're going med. free, so I want to try to work with gravity the best I can.

We are working with a doula, and we haven't gotten into much of that stuff yet. But we will with the next meeting next week.

just stay off your back. squatting is the best, kneeling, hands and knees, semi sitting ect, anything that keeps you up right.

Hands and knees was my fave with my 3rd.  I just intuitively knew that was where I needed to be.  He was almost 12 pounds...I can't imagine having birthed him laboring on my back.

With my son I pushed squatting holding on to the inside of the birthing tub and on all fours was the most comfortable and he was  a 9lb posterior baby

Squatting and hands and knees are really good. I delivered my first in a semi-reclining position, it worked well and was pretty comfy.

I started out squatting, then all fours and then my midwife suggested I try side-lying and she finally came out. i was worried about tearing but luckily that didn't happen :)

I delivered on my back, which I've heard is the most painful way, but it's what worked for me. When the time comes, you'll just know how and where you want to be. Just follow your instinct, your body will tell you what to do. :-)
