So I've read about women wanting to delay clamping/cutting the cord until it stops pulsating, what's the benefits of this? This is something I haven't heard of and I would love more information!

I asked my midwife, just to make sure, if this was something she normally does. She said they always wait until it stops plusing, but b/c they have to test the blood to see what type it is to know if I need the Rhogam they might not be able to wait as long.. I am wondering how long it usually takes and I know its probably different for everyone, but how long the placenta takes to come out, bc I would rather wait for it to be cut after the placenta is out too.
It can take hours at times but that is unusual usually 40 mins to deliver mine was out in less than 5 min
Also they can draw the blood before it is clamped and cut, my ped made them do a heel stick on my son because they didn't get any cord blood.
