my dream birth is the one im planning right now. an unassisted birth at home, with my parents here keeping my kids occupied, husband home from his deployment with my friend(and doula) supporting me. Laboring peacefully in the birthing tub in my room until my last precious bundle arrives =)

I would love for my next birth to be another natural water birth (and a spontaneous labor!). I will be refusing an IV,  and hopefully the next will not get stuck like his/her brother so that I can STAY in the tub!

My dream birth is me and my husband calmly and peacefully birthing out baby together unassisted.

I can see it now. We are standing in the bedroom with dim lights. My arms are draped over his sholders as I breath baby down. Gently I reach down, grab my baby. All 3 of us snuggle together before our other children wake to meet the new baby.

I sure hope that is how 3 goes, sometime in the future!

I have had a variety of birth experiences so far. C-sections, hospital VBACs, natural birth, and one Unassisted VBAC. I've had many different birth fantasies and none of them involve a hospital.

I'd love to have a summer birth, since most of my fantasies happen outdoors. I once read a beautiful blog about a women that gave birth outside in her garden under a huge tree. I have seen videos of women in Russia giving birth in the Black Sea.

A teepee would be very nice too.

So many options..... I'll have to come back and write my dream birth story. :)

Ok here is my dream birth:

It is a December night and we are snowed in at a beautiful rustic cabin.  I am curled up in front of the fire gazing at my christmas tree, and I am reading A Christmas Carol to my family.  All the while I am painlessly laboring as the snow falls.  I drink hot coca and egg nog and listen to christmas music.  Once I feel it is time for the baby to be born I would get into the tub which would have a full view window of the beautiful winter wonderland outside tastefully decorated for the holiday.  My husband would be in the water with me lovingly rubbing my back and stroking my face to help keep me calm.  I would then allow my body to do what it needs to do and gently allow my child to emerge from my body into the water slowly and peacefully.  Once the baby has emerged I will scoop him/her into my arm and put him/her to my breast and encourage nursing.  Once the placenta is delivered, I would empty the water rinse off and then run more water for an herb bath for the baby and myself.  I would use a nice soft yarn to tie of the cord and my husband and my other children would cut the cord together.  Then once everything is cleaned up we all as a family lie down on a huge bed in front of a fire and bond with the new addition to our family.

my dream birth would be at home in a birthing tub.  The warm water to relax my limbs and my husband holding me up.  My midwife there to take care of us. My son watching mommy and daddy bring a sibling into the world.  My parents there for support.  I would want to labor outside under the trees with my dog lying there with me.  Whenever I had a contraction, I would look up into the blue sky and try to breath with the wind.  And for my labor to be fast and easy, not like my first...and of course a healthy beautiful baby, boy or girl...

I know a lady who had her first child in a teepee :) I absolutely LOVE looking at the pictures of that birth. :)

My dream birth is a summer birth at home.  Preferably shorter than my first though next time I'll at least know what to expect. I would want our families around us. Soothing calm enviroment. My DF rubbing my back and helping me through the pain. I would love to deliver standing up or in the water. With my daughter nearby so afterwards we could all cuddle together and be a real family.

My dream birth would be finally having the home birth that I have been wanting with my children there to share the experience with me. It would be calm and relaxing while talking with my children about what is happening. Then having them witness the miracle of birth as their sister is born.
