Accronymns and Abrviations used in Natural Birth

Here is a list that we've come up with so far. Please feel free to comment when you come across a term you are unsure of and isn't in the list. Thanks ;)

AROM-artificial rupture of membranes

BD- Baby dance (nookie, stork call, "coloring")

BFP/N--big fat positive/negative (pregnancy test)

CM-cervical mucous

CP-Cervical Position

DPO-days past ovulation

EDD- Estimated Date of Delivery

efm-electronic fetal monitoring

EWCM- Eggwhite Cervical Mucus (most fertile type of CM)

FAM--fertility awareness method

hbac--vaginal homebirth after cesarean

LMP- last menstural period

LP - Luteal phase?

oohb--out of hospital birth

POAS--pee on a stick (take pregnancy test)

PP - Post-partum

PROM- premature rupture of membranes

SROM- spontaneous rupture of membranes

TTC - Trying to concieve

ubac--unassisted homebirth after cesarean

UC- Unassisted childbirth?

UP- Unassisted pregnancy

US,U/S- ultrasound

vbac--vaginal birth after cesarean

VE- Vaginal Exam
