You have a few options-   Like an illegally attended homebirth, an unassisted homebirth, an "accidental" homebirth but attended by a midwife (as your "doula"), you could travel out of state....

What about a birth center? Or nurse midwives?

I'm sorry :(  I guess you could do it unassisted at home.

Midwives are not illegal in Georgia, theres a whole association of them.

Heres SOME of the midwives in Georgia http://www.gamidwifery.org/?page_id=6

I too thought midwives were illegal and homebirths were illegal in NC and they are not.  In NC only CNM can deliver at home CPM are not recognized and therefor they can be brought up on legal charges for delviering a baby, BUT you would be in no trouble at all, it would be on the CPM.  HOmebirths are perfectly legal.
