I went in assuming id just have a midwife.
My midwife I found out has an assistant, a doula training to be a midwife- awesome free doula!
Now she says theres another midwife she works with that she would like to share my care with. Alternating prenatal visits with. Which is cool with me. I met them all on monday they all came to my house for the first visit and we all clicked pretty well.
Is this kinda normal though or not. How many ppl did your care?
Quoting Momsthename0609:
In Canada there are 3 MWs that tend to your care and you have appointments with all of them at one point or another.
My midwife has three assistants, but whoever was on call was who came with her. So it was her and one assistant, but I became quite close with all of them. :) It was a great experience.
I had my mw, and 2 appentice mws but one left because she had a doula client that went into labor
I just had 2 and they were the 2 that delivered my baby. That's really cool though, that there are so many training.
2 people did my care the midwife and her assistant. They were at my birth plus my DH and my photographer.
Also a birth photographer, hubby and kid's
I am planning my homebirth (anyday now) and I am planning on having my hubby, mom, sister, kids, my friend (she is a nurse/paramedic) and hopefully a photographer if she can get here in time.
well i had a UC so it was my hubby and my doula but my parents were here taking care of the kids so my mom was in and out with my daughter as she wanted to be a part of things too.
so total 4 i guess. but mainly just 2.
