Jordis slept amazingly well last night! Went down at 11:00, woke to nurse at 2:00 and is currently still asleep at 7:25!!!! I'm so thankful for a sleeping baby and refreshed parents! But holy engorgement!!! These concrete boobs are killing me!

She's only 5 days old so I don't want to mess with my supply yet. I will take a warm shower after she nurses to get a little relief.

thats what messed with my supply...my daughter sleeping so much. she slept generally from 9-3/5 then from then till 9. killed my supply. that was from the beginning.

My older daughter would sleep 8+ hours from about 3 weeks old on and I didn't have any supply issues with her so hopefully I won't have any issues this time either. I doubt I will. My older daughter is 5 and I never did completely dry up in those five years. I think I'm one of the "lucky" ones who could probably exclusively breastfeed quadruplets!

Actually engorgement SLOW milk production so removing the milk would not be a bad thing...better than mastitis too

your so lucky!!!! although i probably didnt have any serious supply issues. she just never seemed happy at the breast

Yes, but pumping at this point would only cause me to produce more. If I have too much problem I'll express a little but hopefully it won't be too bad.
