Natural headache remedies

I have a killer headache today. It's a sinus one cause by allergies and the start of a cold, I think.

I've tried mint tea and a hot shower, but neither are working. I hate using meds especially since I'm nursing.

Any other suggestions for me?

Peppermint oil

Now to sound stupid...what do I do with it? I'm not sure I have any but I may.

I put just a drop on my finger and rub on my temples

Aromatherapy hot or cold pack
I like to just lay the whole thing over my face and lay down

Oh ya, I have an aromatherapy thingie that I could use. Unfortunately, I think my husband moved it on me. Guess I could go look for it quick. I bet it would feel great around my neck right now.

I have tried the peppermint oil as I suffer from migraines and terrible allergies.  I am pregnant so there isn't much I will take for a headache.  I found ice packs help, as does rubbing peppermint oil on temples.  Also, darkness and keeping the noise down.  Actually, I have 3 kids 5,4, and 2 so I have not actually tried that approach, but I hear it works, lol!

Good luck!  I know how awful headaches can be.  :(

Thanks. I used my aromatherapy thing, plus a shower and mint tea and its mostly gone now.

Now if I could get rid of my neck pain.

I get sinus headaches often, and I am pregnant at the moment, too. The best solution I've found is to first, flush my nasal passages with plain saline nasal spray. This helps relieve the pressure and washes away allergens and irritants.

Then I heat up a wheat bag (you can use a hot water bottle, heating pad, whatever you've got) and wrap it around the back of my neck, or if I'm really desperate, lay it over my sinuses.

After that, I put a drop of peppermint oil in my palm, mix it with 1-2 drops of jojoba or sweet almond oil, and then rub it on my temples and on my forehead.

I hope you found some relief!

Wanted to add: a wheat bag or something similar will really help relieve tension in the neck, too. :)

My raw amber necklace takes away most of my headaches.
