Chapped knees and feet from crawling

Ds is 7 months old (today!) and has been scooting around for a month. He army crawls, so his little knees and tops of his feet are all chapped and rough :(

It's too hot to always have him in pants and leg warmers and socks! I do apply balms/lotions/oils to his legs and feet but obviously it's not going to solve the problem 100%.

We had hardwood floors when my other kids were crawling so this is new to me. It makes me feel so bad! Will his skin get used to it and start looking better, or do I need to keep him in pants and socks all the time? He is a big, chubby baby who sweats a ton and I feel bad when he's wearing pants and socks and it's 90* out...

Let him crawl around in the grass?

Make a floor of soft baby blankets?

I just went through that stage. My poor LO's legs looked horrible. I just put bm and lotion on his legs every night. Luckily, he never seemed bothered by how dry and calloused his legs were.

Do you have breast milk? Put it on his skin!
