No-- I made sure that I would have pretty natural births!;-)
yes. it was 100% natural right up until the end - they had been monitoring me because I had a lot of pre-e signs right at the end, so I was in a bed most of the time, but still went without pain meds or any other intervention. She turned her head while I was pushing and the midwife couldn't get her to turn back (the nurses were turning me into different positions while her hand was inside me while my body was pushing - not pleasant).
OB finally called it after letting her try for 30 minutes and rushed me for an emergency c-section. Was put fully under because there wasn't even time to do a spinal.
I planned a natural home birth. At 36 weeks I fell on my belly and had to go to the ER. When I was there, and they did the ultrasound, they saw that she was a complete breach. She had been through my whole pregnancy. So, I had a planned c-section. (it was my second c-section, first was emergency). It was planned for january 21, but I went into labor my own january 12, and fifteen hours later, had the c-section. SO, I atleast got to labor for a while naturally.
Planned a home birth. Labor never stared on its own and unfortunately my MW can't legally deliver past 42 weeks. Was induced at 42w 1d. I was so upset but I still went without pain meds. I wasn't going to just completely give up just because I wasn't having my home birth. I am so happy I had the support that I did to keep pushing (no pun intended...okay maybe a little..) through the pitocin without any pain meds. I am confident my next birth will be much easier having experienced this. :-)
