I have a few questions... UPDATE- REPLY 10!!

1) What is the best HPT for an accurate positive?

2) What can I do about my mental health problems if I am indeed pregnant?

I have bi-polar disorder, social anxiety disorder, insomnia, and depression. I also have acid reflux. Right now I'm taking Prilosec, Effexor XR, Seroquel, and Welbutrin. I've suffered one MC in the past because of my medicine. I have strong reason to believe I'm pregnant and I don't want to hurt this Baby Bean or cause her/him to have deformities, but I need some type of help for these issues.

Sincerely, Pumpkin

Get in to a dr and talk about getting different meds that are safe if you think you might be pregnant! I have slight bipolar, schizophrenic tendencys, multiple personality tendencys, and psychotic depression..i stopped taking my meds when i found out..

a lot of women swear by even the dollar store tests, so any test should work.

beyond that you need to talk to a doctor not us...

First response is a reliable HPT. The cheap tests are great if you are TTC and using a lot of tests, but they also often have indents and evaporation lines.

On the test. I have used them all. I have never got a false reading on any of them. I bought the dollar tree test by the case when we were ttc.

The meds? Talk to your Dr. Soon!

#1  I swear by dollar tree tests.

#2 I would talk to a doctor about all your mental health problems.

I like the first response early result tests. Avoid blue dye/digitals as they have a higher incident of give false positives.

I'd talk to a doctor, midwife, naturopath, and/or herbalist about the meds and alternatives.

For natural ways, increase your intake of pototes and brocolli, they are naturally high in lithium for the bi-polar. It has seemed to help calm episodes since I am nursing and refuse to take any meds.  And ask your doctor about Hyland's nerve tonic, it really helps with my anxiety but didnt start taking it until after DD was born so I dont know about being pregnant.

I agree with this. Liked 1st response disliked any blue dyes. Have you tried any other meds for your illnesses like Paxil or Zoloft? I know there's a 3rd that some doctors recommend but I can't remember it. You need to discuss with your doc if the benefits of the drugs outweigh the risks to your baby. I personally stopped all my meds (wellbutrin included) for PPD when I got pregnant again. But my symptoms are manageable without the drugs.

I bought a 3-pack of the 1st Response tests, and took all three of them within a week and a half. All were negative. I still haven't started my period! I'm now 42 days late!! I plan to make an appointment ASAP to see about getting a blood test done.

A big Thank You to all who have helped me so far!!

Sincerely, Pumpkin
