What's the rush?!

I'm complaining here because don't want to cause drama in my ddg. Our babies are only 3 1/2- 4 months old and a lot of ladies have already started pureed foods and that oatmeal stuff. They claim their LO's are ready! How on earth can they be ready so young? I'm sure they still have their tongue thrust reflux, they aren't sitting up by themselves, they aren't watching you eat your food intently and they aren't trying to grab food off your plate. Am I missing something here? One mom posted a video of her feeding her 3 1/2mo in our group. Majoraty of the replies were cute and how sweet. Then a few ladies posted some FYI info on the benefits of starting solids at 6 montsh. Apparently this mom felt harrassed and bashed. Which she wasn't, ppl were just stating the information, but she got very defensive... (she has since deleted that post!) Anyhoo, I just thought it was crazy!

Oh yeah and it gets worse.

Great.... so I get to see them doing ignorant things to their kids other than inducing for no reason?! I am in the July group. There are probably (I am exaggerating) five women left who haven't had their babies.... Most had inductions the first week of the month.

I am pretty aggravated with mine too. Someone asked if everyone was starting cereal and fruit. (The babies aren't even 4 months yet. Let alone 6.) She was told by many that they were waiting til 6. She said her doc said it was ok and maybe we were just being TRENDY. I'm not kidding, trendy. So I said, nooooo, not a trend. It's just healthier and explained why. Then she said well her baby was ready. She implied that somehow her baby was advanced because he was "ready" and ours weren't. AND THEN some other chick comes on about how big her baby is and how he's so advanced (her doc said he was 2 months ahead...I'm assuming this is his measurements.) that she started cereal at 2 months!! They are driving me nuts!! This is not a competition. A few weeks ago it was all about the Bumbo. I don't even own one! One lady had her kid sittin on the dryer in the Bumbo and had taken a pic from pretty far away. NOT SAFE! Smh. I can't handle it anymore.

I don't understand why they want their babies to grow up so fast.

I kind of get it. I lived for the next milestone with my first. I couldn't wait until he could crawl and feed himself and talk, etc. I was so proud of him and wanted to show him off every time he did something new. After my second, we had a loss. And we weren't planning to have any more, so I was done with babies. DD is my little gift, and I want to savor every moment. The only thing I might want to rush now is talking so she can tell me what she needs instead of crying.

lol, we are in the same facebook group! I shared the link about baby led solids! I aslo had to explain to a mom why it is normal to only pump about 2oz per session. Oh, and how about the I cant feed my big boy formula only until he is 6-9 months old, he will be huge by then! They will learn!

Oh, haha! Well then you know! She said "trend" and I was so mad. Then after the comment where she implied he's advanced I just quit commenting. She has the info. She's apparently gonna ignore it so I give up. I am obviously Ginger. Hi! :)

I think alot of people start their babies waaaaay to early on solids. When my dd was 6 months my ped told me to start giving her cereal cause my milk wasn't "enough" for her anymore! I just smiled, nodded and continued to EBF. She continued to gain just fine and he never knew the difference. Did the whole baby-led weaning thing and it worked out great. I never had a problem with her weight gain.

I love how everything remotely related to natural or attachment parenting is "trendy."
